26th WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME MEMORIAL OF THE HOLY GUARDIAN ANGELS — FRIDAY

O
n this day of the Season of Creation, as we celebrate the Holy Guardian Angels, the International Day of Non-Violence, and the World Day for Farmed Animals, we are called to embrace a gentle and childlike way of co-existing with one another and with all God’s creatures.

Response: LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER.
Alternative: LORD, PROTECT AND GUIDE US.
  1. That the Church may proclaim God’s loving care for all creation and defend the dignity of the least among us. Let us pray to the Lord.
  2. That government leaders may embrace non-violence, work to end conflicts, and protect life in all its forms. Let us pray to the Lord.
  3. That, like our Guardian Angels who watch over us, we may protect creatures entrusted to our care from needless suffering. Let us pray to the Lord.
  4. That we may become angels of protection and hope to those suffering violence, exploitation, or ecological destruction. Let us pray to the Lord.
  5. That our beloved dead, accompanied by angels on earth and beyond death, may be led safely home into God’s loving presence. Let us pray to the Lord.
Lord of peace and compassion, guard our steps and teach us to protect the vulnerable and care for all creation as children of your Kingdom. Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
