26th WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME - MONDAY

O
n this day of the Season of Creation, Pope Francis reminds us that “Good education plants seeds when we are young.” Let us pray that what we plant in the hearts of the young today may bear fruit in care for people and creation.

Response: LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER.
Alternative: LORD, TEACH US YOUR WAYS.
  1. That Church leaders may be wise educators, forming people in solidarity, responsibility, and compassionate care for creation. Let us pray to the Lord.
  2. That government leaders may recognize that laws alone are not enough, and help form citizens motivated to protect our common home. Let us pray to the Lord.
  3. That, welcoming children as Jesus did, families may teach through little daily actions that nurture a culture of life and care for creation. Let us pray to the Lord.
  4. That those who have grown cynical may trust that even small acts of care can change our world. Let us pray to the Lord.
  5. That the dead, especially children and young people caught in crossfire and violence, may be welcomed into God’s peace. Let us pray to the Lord.
Father, make the seeds we plant among the youth today help to create a culture of shared life and respect for our surroundings. Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
