26th WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME - THURSDAY

O
n this day of the Season of Creation, the Lord reminds us that mission is never solitary. As Pope Leo XIV teaches, “humble collaboration is essential,” for no institution can confront the ecological crisis alone. Trusting that God sends us together to heal and bring peace, we pray:

Response: LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER.
Alternative: LORD, SEND US IN PEACE.
  1. That Church leaders, following Jesus’ call to travel lightly, may witness that mission does not depend on accumulation, but on simplicity, trust, and generous service. Let us pray to the Lord.
  2. That government leaders, may have the courage to be lambs among wolves, resisting pressures of destructive greed, and choosing instead to protect the common good. Let us pray to the Lord.
  3. That one person’s hope may awaken hope in another, until we become an “us” strong enough to change what harms people and creation. Let us pray to the Lord.
  4. That peoples suffering from war may find an end to violence, destruction, displacement, and the devastation of their lands. Let us pray to the Lord.
  5. That the faithful departed may be welcomed into the eternal peace of God’s Kingdom. Let us pray to the Lord.
Father, make us faithful workers for healing and peace. Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
