PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL DURING SEASON OF CREATION

24th WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME - FRIDAY

O
n this day of the Season of Creation, women accompany Jesus and support his mission from their resources. Laudato Si’ reminds us: “Everything is interconnected.” As Christ’s mission depended on many hands, caring for our common home requires everyone’s participation. Let us pray for greater communion and shared responsibility.

Response: LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER.
Alternative: LORD, DRAW US TOGETHER.
  1. That Church leaders may recognize and strengthen the participation of women, whose gifts and service enrich the Church’s mission. Let us pray to the Lord.
  2. That government leaders may seek out overlooked voices and contributors, especially those whose experience can help communities care more wisely for people and creation. Let us pray to the Lord.
  3. That we may recognize that care for creation cannot be separated from our relationships, social responsibilities, economic choices, and life in community. Let us pray to the Lord.
  4. That victims of tyranny and exploitation may find protection as we learn to live not as tyrants, but as brothers, sisters, and stewards within the community of creation. Let us pray to the Lord.
  5. That the dead, who received God’s gifts in this life, may enter the fullness of the Giver. Let us pray to the Lord.
God of communion, teach us to recognize every gift and contribution and to work together in caring for one another and creation. Grant this through Christ our Lord. Amen.
