PRAYERS OF THE FAITHFUL DURING SEASON OF CREATION

22nd WEEK IN ORDINARY TIME - WEDNESDAY

s we walk together through this Season of Creation, we recall Pope Francis’ words: “We can have a very organised Curia, a very organised parish, a very organised diocese, but if there is no missionary spirit, if you don't pray in there, nothing moves ahead. Prayer is important.” Like Jesus, who withdrew to a deserted place before continuing his mission of healing, we turn to God in prayer:

Response: LORD, HEAR OUR PRAYER.

Alternative: LORD, RENEW US IN PRAYER.

1. That the Church may draw strength from prayer to continue Christ’s mission of healing humanity and our common home. Let us pray to the Lord.

2. That government leaders may protect creation and promote conditions where all life can flourish. Let us pray to the Lord.

3. That, following the example of Jesus, our prayer may lead us to serve others and care more deeply for creation. Let us pray to the Lord.

4. That those who suffer from illness, especially the poor and those without adequate healthcare, may receive healing, compassionate care, and the support they need. Let us pray to the Lord.

5. That the dead may be welcomed into the fullness of life in God’s renewed creation. Let us pray to the Lord.

On this day, Lord, renew us in prayer, that we may go forth with Christ to heal, serve, and care for all creation. Through Christ our Lord. Amen.
