"For a long time I have held my peace, I have kept myself still and restrained myself; now I will cry out like a woman in labor, I will gasp and pant" (Is 42:14)

Migaloo—The Albino Humpback Whale

M
igaloo is one of a few known white whales living in the oceans and was the first one ever sighted. He is an adult male albino humpback bearing an Australian indigenous name which means “white fella.”

Migaloo is estimated to have been born in 1986 and was first spotted in 1991 when he was passing through Byron Bay together with thousands of humpback whales that migrate yearly. Being so unique and precious, he is protected under Queensland and Commonwealth Government legislation, which states that no vessel is allowed to get within 500 meters of him. This is for his protection from the prying eyes of humans.

I feel guilty now because since I was a child I have always loved taking care of a fish in an aquarium as a pet. Migaloo's case makes me ask myself, "Do I know how my fish in the aquarium feels?" On day twenty-three of the Season of Creation, let us look at life from the perspective of a pet's glass cage or iron cage, etc. If you were in his or her place, how would you feel? 8thWorker.us
